Project Overview

In 2012, the Urban Design Build Studio at Carnegie Mellon University embarked on an innovative endeavor, giving birth to Puriflume—a groundbreaking sustainable water filtration system that seamlessly merges environmental consciousness with recreational allure. At its core, Puriflume features a dynamic water slide and interactive sprayheads, positioned as primary attractions catering to the delight of children.

Collaborating with a group of skilled designers, our team undertook the task of specifying, programming, and installing a state-of-the-art IP68 rated lighting system. This system not only serves practical purposes but also introduces a touch of theatrical brilliance to the mobile water park experience. From vibrant underwater hues to illuminating the surrounding environment, the lighting design elevates Puriflume into a visually captivating spectacle.
